Understanding the why behind every behaviour
A Behaviour Support Plan (BSP) is a personalised, NDIS-funded document developed by a qualified Behaviour Support Practitioner. It identifies the reasons behind behaviours of concern and outlines strategies to reduce distress, build skills, and improve quality of life.
At Breakthrough Behaviour, we take the time to truly understand each participant — their history, their strengths, their environment, and what they're trying to communicate. Our plans are practical, compassionate, and built in genuine partnership with participants and their families.

Building skills, reducing distress, improving lives
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an evidence-based framework that focuses on understanding behaviour in context and building the skills participants need to thrive. Rather than simply managing behaviour, PBS addresses the root causes and creates lasting, meaningful change.
Our practitioners work directly with participants in their natural environments — at home, at school, and in the community — to implement strategies that are practical, consistent, and genuinely effective.

Empowering the people who matter most
Families and carers are the most important people in a participant's life. When they feel confident, informed, and supported, the impact is transformative. Our family and carer training is practical, hands-on, and tailored to your specific situation.
We work alongside you to build your understanding of behaviour, develop consistent strategies, and give you the tools to respond calmly and effectively — so you can make a real difference every single day.
We also offer training sessions directly to participants' schools, day programs, and support teams — helping everyone in a participant's life use consistent, evidence-based approaches.

Reducing restrictive practices safely and sustainably
Where restrictive practices are currently in use, we develop structured, evidence-based fade out plans to safely reduce and ultimately eliminate their use — in line with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.
We work closely with participants, families, support workers, and other providers to ensure the fade out process is gradual, safe, and supported by skill-building strategies that address the underlying needs driving the behaviour.

A safe, supportive break for participants and families
Short Term Accommodation (STA), also known as Respite, provides participants with a temporary supported stay away from their usual home environment. It gives participants the opportunity to build independence, try new experiences, and connect with others — while giving families and carers a well-deserved break.
At Breakthrough Behaviour, we offer 1:1 home-based Respite only. Our STA supports are delivered in a safe, nurturing home environment with a focus on positive behaviour support principles. We work closely with participants and their families to ensure every stay is comfortable, consistent, and tailored to the individual's needs and goals.

Our services are often funded through your NDIS plan under Improved Relationships (Specialist Behaviour). However, depending on what support you need or if you are Early Intervention we are here to help. We work with private, plan-managed, self-managed and agency-managed participants.
